COVID-19 FIOCRUZ MEMORIAL
2nd place in the National Public Architecture Competition for the Covid-19 FioCruz Memorial, in Rio de Janeiro – 2024

Project developed in conjunction with the architecture firm armu. With a gross area of 120m², the curved walkway with a perforated envelope mimics the timeline of the pandemic in Brazil. Its openings' pattern reflects the severity of the pandemic; the more critical the situation, the fewer openings there are. Walking through this space is like walking through time through memory.
Code Design was responsible for parameterizing the distribution of the openings in the envelope and generating the geometry of the panels, giving the architects freedom and agility to test multiple distributions in a short period of time.
